We've been to Ohio & back for a funeral this past week. Kevin's first wife's (who died of cancer) father died. We have stayed very close to the family and they have been amazingly gracious to accept me into the family. It was another celebration of a life well lived.
The other day I finally cleaned out the drawer of the china cabinet that came from Ma's house. It was fun to find all the odds & ends of strings, yarn, wrapping paper, batteries, etc. There was a pyrex bowl full of melted candle wax that she must have thought she would make another candle out of some day. I decided to get rid of the wax so I could save the bowl and use it. The funniest thing I found was a partially used roll of masking tape. She was the masking tape queen! I remember anything she sent home with us would be wrapped up and covered in masking tape. Two things she never ran out of--masking tape and Absorbine Jr.! Memories :)

Where is everyone?
Only 30 more days of school! Things are getting crazier by the day around here. The end of school os SO busy--especially for excited 6 year olds! We have been camping 3 times since Feb. 19. We traded campers the end of Feb. and we've used it twice. We went to Kara's wedding in Canyon. It was beautiful, and Deb did a wonderful job planning from a distance. Kara was a beautiful bride, and Lani and Renee were good bridemaids. Grandma and Grandpa Burr had a great time, too. It was so good to see everyone again. Our kids are doing well. Kayci is having a baby boy in late August. This will make 7 grandkids- 4 boys and 3 girls. We just love keeping up with them all. Hope to hear from you all soon. I'll post some pictures when I have more time. Love, Karen

Thought you would all want to know that Millie Clawson is not well...she fell and hit her head...has some other symptoms and now pneumonia. I'm having some resurging of emotions. Her daughter Becky, my classmate and friend, called Tuesday to visit because we hadn't connected since Mom's passing. She said Millie had a wonderful birthday the week of March 12, and joyfully said that it's OK if that's the last birthday. Becky said she's tired...she lost her twin sister last winter...and then she lost her Nellie...she's ready to go. My last visit with Millie before the end, Millie hugged me and said she thought she got as much out of my visits there as Mom did. I called her my unofficial "Godmother". Please pray for the family, we understand what they are going through. Love you all, Aunt Bonty
On a humorous note about funerals...when Millie walked in to her twin sisters service they could hear people gasping because she was identical to the person lying in the casket!

Paula, Sounds like you're in for some fun! You might start practicing up to increase your stamina! Congratulatons. There's just nothing sweeter than a new baby. We have enjoyed our 3 Alabama grandchildren this week. We are flying to Dallas Saturday and then I'll fly home Sunday morning. It's definitely Spring here in Alabama. The trees are loaded with blossoms and the azalea bushes are just full of flowers. It is amazing what going South and a lot of rain can do. So glad to hear about Patriece's improvement. Keep us posted. Karen
John David Currey was born 18 March in Danville, Indiana. His mother is Dave's daughter Rachel. See my post in "Comments" under Bonita's blog for more about this. Also, thanks to everyone for prayers for Patriece!!! She has had substantial relief from the intense pain. Although the pain is not completely gone, she is able to function and have much better days. A great answer to prayer!
