Paula

Paula, I told you I would find out about Josh's talk at Pepperdine. Kayci sent me this link to get a CD, DVD, or MP3. I guess you can't just listen on line. I'm ordering the DVD. I would be glad to share it when I see you again. Sorry. ACU has a place you can download the talk.

Rogers' happenings

Kayci got here Thursday afternoon. She was the speaker for our annual Ladies Retreat this weekend. The theme was "The Overflow of the Heart" She did an amazing job. I know I am a bit biased, but everyone there loved the experience. Josh will come tomorrow. We'll have Truitt's 2nd birthday party tomorrow afternoon. We've invited some of Kayci's old friend and their kids for cake and ice cream. They will fly out Tuesday morning for Pepperdine. Kayci teaches her class Wednesday morning at 9:45. Josh speaks Friday morning. (Paula, I am not sure if you can hear it online. The ACU lectureship was available, but I couldn't find it at Pepperdine. I'll find out and let you know.) They'll be back Saturday for Mother's Day then leave for Decatur and Josh's parents. We are going to Courtney's graduation celebration May 15. School is winding down if we can just keep from overreacting to the Swine Flu. There have been not any confirmed cases here. Hope to hear from you all soon. Karen

Nix happenings

I've enjoyed reading the recent posts. I have baby birds on my back porch. I have a bird house James painted in scouts hanging under the eaves. I have to fuss at the blue jays when the try to bother them. I also am blessed to have hummingbirds that I can watch from my kitchen window.

Karen's birthday was May 2 and James (my youngest) birthday is May 3. He is being baptized on his birthday tomorrow. We are excited about his decision to commit himself to Christ.

We are trying not to over react to the Swine Flu. The media doesn't help calm the nerves. There were six cases reported in a nearby community. The city is waiting on 8 more cases to be tested. Our schools have cancelled all concerts and banquets. I'm dissappointed for these kids that have worked so hard for these events. I'm sure ya'll are having similiar problems.

We are in the midst of planning a family vacation to Hawaii in June. I'm making all the arrangements to save money. We wanted to have a big trip before Emily's senior year.

Enjoy hearing from ya'll.....Janet
